Nigel got married on the weekend in a restaurent in Jinn Mao tower. We decided to stay the night in the Hyatt again (our stay last time was superb). Wonderful wedding, wonderful hotel.
One advantage of going away to such a great hotel with a child (we left Vy with the eryi for the night, two kids would have been exhausting) was we got to order room service and enjoy really fine food without the fun of running after Lyam. We ate, enjoyed great food next to a spectacular view.
I got to play the role a 'person of the cloth' would normally play. It appealed t that part of me that (still) actually finds the idea of being a minister appealing.

We went to Morgan Shan lu on Sunday, and saw some interesting work. There was an exhibition of some great work along the theme of history. Being a history teacher this attracted my attention. The work was great, but I was a little annoyed at some of the ideas of history- did the artist collaborate with an historian? The art work was beuatiful, but the historical notions were not at all useful. The work would have bene much more powerful if historiann and artist had worked togther. As it was it was great art, and poor historical comment.
Jen, Nikki, Anthony and I are working on the "Art+", and we have the first event planned for next month. I'm anxious about it, but quietly confident we can pull it off. We will make mistakes, Im sure, but we can learn from them and do an even better event next time. Hopefully its the start of something. It feels really satisfying to work for something that's helping to make the world a better place. http://artplus-cooperative.blogspot.com/
